Based in Boca Raton, Florida, Siemens Information and Communication Networks wanted to take advantage of Livelink’s Program Management Module for managing numerous network implementation projects that required collaboration among people from Siemens, their clients and various partners. How could they rapidly engage their clients and partners – who were completely unfamiliar with Livelink – in collaboration with Livelink users inside Siemens?

The solution was Formark Outside, which enables the collaboration in a few simple steps:

• A Siemens project manager creates a new “Collaborative Project” from within Livelink, and identifies all of the participants
• The new projects, folders and users needed to support the collaboration are automatically created within Livelink
• E-mail invitations are sent to the external participants with a link to the custom web site for this project collaboration, and a Livelink user name and password
• The users connect and log into the project web site, where they see a simple 1-page user interface tailored to the Siemens project terminology. Users can immediately upload documents and contribute to the discussions.

The end result is a very effective, low-overhead solution that easily engages their clients and partners in the collaboration needed to significantly increase the chances of each project being a success.
