Enterprise Content Management - Solutions for Managing the Canadian Public Sector's Digital InformationOttawa, Ontario – February 13, 2008 – Formark® Ltd. presented at the Microsoft ECM Day in Ottawa on February 26, 2008.. In most organizations, digital content doubles every three years. It is estimated that by 2010 the amount of digital information stored will be equivalent to 15 million times the information contained in all the books every written. At the same time customers and constituents want access to more information, in the format they want, whenever they need it, while respecting privacy and organizational security considerations. Meanwhile, organizations are accountable more than ever for the information they author, publish, retain, and destroy. In 2006, Microsoft had the biggest product launch in company history with billions of Research and Development entering the market. This investment is represented by a bold step for Microsoft into the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) arena with the latest version 3.0 of the Microsoft® Office SharePoint® Server 2007 platform. Formark President, David Forbes, presented Formark's Collaborative Team Workflow product Process-Driven Collaboration. Process-Driven Collaboration is an innovative module for SharePoint 2007 specifically designed for team-based business processes such as preparation of funding proposals and new product development. It combines SharePoint collaboration features, electronic forms and business process workflow to guide teams of information workers through the stages and tasks of their own processes. Unlike traditional workflow solutions, Process-Driven Collaboration provides one place for team members to go to get everything they need for a specific process: workflow, information and people. As a result team productivity increases, creativity and innovation is enhanced, decision making improves and process cost and time are cut. During the event Microsoft demonstrated how public sector organizations can leverage the MOSS 2007 platform for ECM solutions. Through this ECM event attending organizations were able to understand the value of information architecture, document and records management, web content management, collaboration and social networking, workflow, policies, and electronic forms. In addition, we discussed how solutions based on the MOSS 2007 platform can be rapidly deployed to help lower operational costs, help increase employee productivity, ensure information consistency, enable collaboration, while transparently adhering to the information management policies.
