Microsoft Project provides detailed planning capabilities. Livelink offers powerful collaboration. Formark Project makes them work together.

Formark Project creates Livelink task lists from MS Project files saved in Livelink. This not only distributes the MS Project tasks in Livelink to other project members but also enables them to share documents, participate in discussions and hold on-line meetings – all in Livelink.

The bottom line is highly effective, one-stop projects.

Using Formark Project

1. Use MS Project to plan, schedule, resource, cost and manage your projects – when the plan is complete, it can be saved into Livelink by simply selecting the Formark Project button.

2. Convert MS Project tasks to Livelink tasks – select the "MSP Document to Task List" item from the right-click popup menu directly from the Livelink browser.

   In creating the task list the user will be presented with a table of MS Project resources and a list of associated Livelink users based on defined business rules. When a name match is not automatic, such as for multiple Livelink project members with the same name, the user can manually make the match or leave the task “unassigned.”

   The following figure shows the Livelink User Mapping dialog box that allows the user to map MPP Resources to Livelink users.

   The creation of the tasks is done on the Formark Project server.

   The tasks of the MS Project file may now be viewed as Livelink tasks:

3. Collaborate in Livelink.

   With all tasks and resources now in Livelink, project members can collaborate more freely, as well as share documents, hold discussions, review news, and hold on-line meetings.

4. Stay current using Update functionality.

   Update both the MS Project file and the Livelink task list as the project evolves by using the simple browser right-click popup menus.

   The MS Project file can be updated from the corresponding Livelink Task List by right-clicking on the MS Project file to be updated and selecting the "Task List to MSP Document" menu item. The Percent Complete and Finish Date fields in each MS Project task will be updated from the corresponding Livelink task status.

   If changes are made to the MS Project file, the corresponding Livelink Task List can be updated to reflect the changes by selecting the MS Project file and clicking on the "MSP Document to Task List" item.

Formark Project supports MS Project Standard 2000, 2002 and 2003 and Livelink 9.1 and higher.
